Reviews of Chelsea Market Basket grocery store from around the web:

“For someone who always shops at the location closest to them (for me that’s the Sommerville location), this Market Basket makes the couple mile longer drive all the difference. For one it’s not only bigger, which means a bigger variety of food and less crowding of isles, but it is 100% cleaner than any of the other locations I have frequented.

And of course Market Basket is always a third of the price compared to any other grocery store.”

“What a class difference between this Market Basket location and the stop and shop down the road. After having to make three separate Stop and Shop returns because of spoiled meat, I decided to give Market Basket a chance. Although it’s further down the road I can confidently say I’ll never return to Stop and Shop. Fresher food, far and away a better selection, cleaner, free samples AND LESS EXPENSIVE! Honestly can’t think of one reason I’d shop anywhere else.

Also (bonus material) their selection of ethnic foods is really good. Obviously it’s not a Super 88, but they made a real effort to have shelf space for Asian cuisine.”

“I love this place, they have so many chicken cooked and tastes delicious, the price is lower and the employees are nice.”

“I don’t know how the hell Market Basket manages to be such a clean, efficiently run supermarket with the best produce, lowest prices around, best deli, fresh amazing Sushi… (I could go on all day) and Stop and Shop is still able to exist! If there is a Market Basket anywhere near you I urge you to check it out. I live in Malden right next to Stop and Shop and I drive to Chelsea to go to Market Basket because it is superior to competing supermarkets in almost every way. I shop around and compare prices and many items you will find can be as much as half as expensive as Stop and Shop. (Example: Kerrygold Dubliner Cheese was $3 at Market Basket compared to $6 at Stop and Shop.)”

“I got a circular a few weeks ago and decided the next time i shopped it would be here instead of Save a Lot. I love Save a Lot but I love Market Basket more because of the great prices of the name brand AND store brand products. This supermarket is the largest supermarket I have ever been in. The seafood counter and the deli had the best looking things…it took me a million years to decide what I wanted. The store was very clean, the lines were not very long, and overall I think this store is great. I love it and this will be my regular supermarket from now on.”
