“Love my kitchen.
Love cookbooks.
Love dining out.
Love cooking shows-ATK is Tops!
BUT I HATE GROCERY STORES!

Enter: Market Basket
How absolutely refreshing!

This store will cover ALL of your food shopping needs. Organic? Check. Homemade Desserts, Baked Goods and Ready made meals? Check. Made on the premises sushi? Check. Fresh produce? Check. Deli? Check.

It’s also a local chain-and I love supporting local business.
Friendly, well dressed staff that’s pretty knowledgeable for a new store.

As in any new grocery store you’re checking out, the set up can be confusing, but I’m over it. Here’s a tip though: the center aisles are where they hide the non food stuffs.”

“I have been waiting for this place to open, and I’m thrilled it finally is! Stop & Shop and Shaw’s are so poorly managed and have such terrible produce, selections, and prices that I dread going to them. I inevitably end up at Whole Foods because if I’m going to spend that kind of money, at least I’ll get something good.

Market Basket is almost spot on.

I do find the arrangement of the store a little odd -pastries and ice cream are the first things you see near the produce section, for example – and I still can’t figure out the rest of the store. The staff is always nice and helpful when I ask questions, though. And although their organic and natural items don’t have their own section, there is a separate organic produce area. Other organic and natural foods are with like items on the shelves or in the refrigerated section.

The great thing is that I am able to find organic dairy products, veggies, and frozen foods, and for significantly less than other stores. I wish their selection of them was a little better, but I am used to Whole Foods. Added bonus: Market Basket is locally owned. Take that, you heartless chain stores!”

“Whoa, this place is awesome!

There is a massive selection of just about everything, this place is huge! Actually, this is one of those places that I have to come with a grocery list because otherwise I end up with a basket full of stuff I don’t need. It does tend to get a bit crowded around prime shopping times, did go on a random Wednesday after work and it wasn’t bad at all. Also for a store in New England, the employees employees are oddly the friendliest staff you will ever meet.

Definitely worth stopping by for some quality grocery shopping.”
